Castle of Gropparello
Situated on a red serpentine spur, the castle overlooks the luxuriant Vezzeno Valley and a stream. Dated back to the VIII century, it belonged to several important families: Fulgosi, Pallavicino, Sforza, Campofregoso, Attendolo and, lastly, Gibelli. Its irregular plan is a great example of fortification art. The ‘Fairy-tales Park’ has been created in the surrounding woods and it is the first ‘emotional’ park in Italy. Children, dressed as brave knights, discover, together with the guides, the traces of fairies, pixies, elves, druids and witches. Adults can enjoy special banquets in the Medieval Tavern.
