CASTLES AND TASTING OF THE PARMA AND PIACENZA DUCHY

FIRST DAY: in the morning visit to the new medieval village of Grazzano Visconti and its Park, which is listed as "one of best parks in the whole of Italy"; then lunch in farm house and wine factory, where one can buy local wines and food products. Afternoon dedicated to the medieval villages of Arda Valley: Castell'Arquato, enchanting fortress which for its beauty was selected as the set of a movie, and Vigoleno, example of defensive medieval fortress, both listed among the "most beautiful villages in the whole of Italy" . Accommodation in ****hotel located in ancient country house of XV century, dinner in refined restaurant with view on the Cistercian abbey of Chiaravalle della Colomba . Overnight in hotel. SECOND DAY: breakfast in hotel and transfer to Parma area to visit the Salami Museum of Felino, located inside the castle having the same name and which is guarding the Apennines lands since the IX century; then visit to the Torrechiara castle, one of the best preserved and more significant examples of Italian castle architecture; then visit to the Ham Museum in Langhirano with lunch. Last visit to Montechiarugolo fortress, enjoying the view of the Enza river flow, visiting the magnificent fresco halls, where legends tells that the ghost of Bema Fay is still wandering. In the late afternoon, return.
