PIACENZA AND PARMA: MAGNIFICENCE AND ELEGANCE IN THE TOWNS OF FARNESE FAMILY

FIRST DAY: thematic guided visit to old town center in Piacenza, on the Farnese dynasty tracks, in search of the evidences of their presence on the local reality such as the city walls, the noble palaces, the Deeds of Farnese (Fasti Farnesiani), the equestrian statues by Francesco Mochi. Brunch in an elegant coffee bar in the town center overlooking Piazza Cavalli (Cavalli Square). In the afternoon tour on local noble family tracks: guided visit to the Rivalta castle, refined castle, still inhabited by Zanardi Landi Counts family, the ancient proprietor. Tasting and shopping in the wine shop of the medieval fortress and then dinner in a restaurant in the village. Overnight stay in ****hotel in Piacenza. SECOND DAY : breakfast in hotel and departure to Parma, guided visit to the old town center on the Farnese family's tracks, such as Palazzo della Pilotta (Pilotta Palace), Teatro Regio (Royal Theater), Duchy Park and Palace, lunch in a typical restaurant in Parma; in the afternoon departure to Colorno, with its ancient fortress transformed in a palace by Ranuccio II Farnese in the second half of XVII century, guided visit to the palace. In late afternoon, return.
