The adventure paths, fascination and surreal surroundings among parks and waterfalls
Friday: arrival in the afternoon, accommodation in the farm house and dinner Saturday: trekking activity along the waterfalls of Perino stream, one of the most suggestive itineraries of the entire province. The waterfalls are spread all over the Valley of Perino, which alternates smooth tracts to impracticable ones striking the visitor with always different sceneries. In the middle of it course, the Perino stream (which is tributary to Trebbia River) is showing its sharpest character flowing suddenly from a quite and placid basin into a closed and tight gorge, creating along 2 km up to 12 small natural waterfalls which in the highest point reach 17 mets height. In certain points the waterfalls are originating natural swimming pool, hollowed out in the rocks, and encircled by vertical walls for suggestive landscapes. The water fountain presents the most different colors depending on the light and the depth, from the transparency of the surfaces to the dark green of the deep waters. After parking the car at Calenzano, it is possible to make the excursion selecting two itineraries the first , and the most difficult, includes some tracts going the stream up into the water and climbing of difficult passages with steel rope on the rock (proper equipment is needed). The second itinerary starts from Molino di Riè (with evidence of the primary activity of the area and is characteristic for its vane diameter dimensions of 9 mets) and winds through descending paths following the stream in some tracts and in others tracts rising up to the slopes. Upon the return a tasty snack in typical farm house near to the waterfalls. Sunday: excursion to Monte Moria park, usually knows as Parco Provinciale (provincial park), a natural park where the Apennines woods heritage is safeguarded. Advisable to spend the whole day in the Park, choosing among different routes, most as loop, well traced and easy to go through. Between April and November is possible to have lunch in the Park refuge (during refuge closing periods is possible to use the picnic area with its grills, tables and wood benches).
