THE RIVER WITH PASSION: NATURE, ART AND TASTY FOOD ALONG THE RIVER

FIRST DAY: in the morning, tasty tour in the Piacenza Lowlands with stop at a farm factory tasting cherries of Villanova; then visit at a cold cuts factory producing culatello (cold cut ham) of the Lowlands. Brunch in typical restaurant of the area. In the afternoon, visit to the Renaissance castle of San Pietro in Cerro, to admire its historic rooms and MIM - Museum in Motion, important collection of over 500 contemporary art works exhibited in the attic room. Return and overnight in ***hotel, dinner in a typical restaurant in Piacenza. SECOND DAY: breakfast in hotel and departure by bus to the Terre Verdiane (Verdi's Lands). Visit to Villa Verdi (Verdi's Country House), romantic and lonely house where the great composer worked and lived with Giuseppina Strepponi, then sailing on the Po River with motorship Calpurnia, to discover local flora and fauna and river landscapes. Lunch in a typical restaurant on the river banks (freshwater fish menu with eels and catfish upon request). In the afternoon, guided tour to Cortemaggiore or to Busseto, tasting typical cakes, spongata and liqueurs among which bargnolino (berry liqueur) and nocino (nut liqueur) to be tasted and eventually bought.

The price includes: 1 overnight stay in double bed/double room , B&B in ***hotel, visit and tasting at a cold cut factory and at a farm factory, brunch in typical restaurant of the Lowlands, guided tour to Cortemaggiore or to Busseto; entrance and guided visit to Villa Verdi (Verdi's Country House) and to the castle of San Pietro in Cerro; dinner in typical restaurant of Piacenza (menu beverages included); lunch in a river restaurant (menu beverages included, with possibility of freshwater fish menu upon request); sailing with motorship Calpurnia (see "Notes").The price does not include: transfers, extras, € 10,00 agency fees, and anything not indicated upon "the price includes". Notes : to take advantage of the above-mentioned price/person the sailing on board of Calpurnia has to be planned on the base of the sailing dates already programmed for the individual tours.
